The Voice season 11: Top 12 artists determined after 20 hopefuls performed live

The Voice season 11 narrowed down the Top 20 artists to only 12 during Monday night’s broadcast of The Voice season 11 “The Live Playoffs” on the NBC Network.

Due to the election coverage on all broadcast networks, twenty Playoff performances were jam-packed into the night’s episode. The Voice season 11 episode featured real-time The Voice voting and also real-time results for the first time in show history.

The Voice judges /Coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys started the night with five members on their team. Viewers voted live to save two artists on each team, and then the coach must also choose one of the three remaining artists to move on to next week’s live shows, eliminating the other two.

The eight artists that was voted by viewers through to the Top 12 were Team Miley’s Ali Caldwell from Woodbridge, NJ, and Aaron Gibson from Atlanta, GA; Team Alicia’s Christian Cuevas from Orlando, FL, and We McDonald from Paterson, NJ; Team Adam’s Billy Gilman from Westerly, RI, and Josh Gallagher from Johnstown, PA; and also Team Blake’s Sundance Head from Houston, TX, and Austin Allsup from Fort Worth, TX.

After the Voice voting from viewers, Alicia Keys said that God can be felt in the room when Sa’Rayah performs and decided to save her from the bottom three. Alicia then eliminated Kylie Rothfield from Danville, CA, and also Josh Halverson from Willmar, MN, from the reality TV Show.

On Miley’s team, she decided to save Darby Walker from Atlanta, GA. She eliminated Sophia Urista from Detroit, MI, and Belle Jewel Lyon from American Fork, UT. Miley chose to save Darby her “mini-me” as they have a strong bond, especially in fashion. Once Billy and Josh G. made it through to the live shows via America’s vote, Adam decided to keep

On Adam’s team, after Billy and Josh G. made it through to the live shows via viewers vote, he decided to save Brendan Fletcher from Randolph, NJ, going forward since he has an earthy, raspy voice that he finds special and that doesn’t “need the frills” of typical Voice contestants.

After his choice, Adam eliminated Simone Gundy from Forth Worth, TX, as well as Riley Elmore from West Dundee, IL.

Blake had a hard time in choosing between Dana Harper from Dallas, TX; Courtney Harrell from Boston, MA; and Jason Warrior from Chicago, IL. He later decided to save Courtney out of the three since he finds her very talented and was even wowed with her performance that night. Dana Harper and Jason Warrior were therefore sent home.

While Sundance and Ali appears to be fan-favorites, Billy gave an amazing performance, with both Blake and Adam agreeing that his placement in the Top 12 was an “absolute no-brainer” as his voice is out of this world.Next week begins the regular Top 12 live shows and all of the contestants will be mentored and guided by
